Adjustable Bases 101

For a bed base with flexibility, look no further than the adjustable base. There are even innerspring mattresses that are adjustable base friendly options, and that nearly 75% of the mattresses we have are adjustable base friendly. With the option to adjust to multiple positions, this base is ideal for reading, watching TV, working and of course, sleeping. With the growing popularity there are many different styles of adjustable bases to choose from; head up only, head up feet up, head up/feet up massage, wired/wireless. Elevated sleep can help reduce snoring, alleviate back pain, improve breathing and much more.

Platform Beds 101

With a sleek design that is sure to please any minimalist, a platform bed only needs one thing: a mattress. This option eliminates the need to buy a boxspring foundation. Be careful though, because you will want the slats on the platform to be approximately 2″ apart and no more for a mattress to get the proper support. If that slats are too wide, a low profile boxspring or bunkie board (2-3″ tall) should be used.

Boxsprings 101

The term boxspring is well-known, but they are also known as foundations. Today’s boxsprings do not actually have springs in them. You can use a boxspring on a metal bedframe or within your favorite bedroom set’s bedframe. The standard boxspring is 9″ tall but there are also low profile optios that are about 5″ tall, in case you want your mattress set to sit a little lower. The height difference depends on personal taste, while the superior support can extend the life of your mattress and prevent sagging overtime.

Bed Frames 101

For an option that is both affordable and durable, a standard metal bed frame is an excellent choice. The standard metal bed frame is compatible with a variety of mattresses. Enjoy the freedom of choosing any mattress and simply matching the frame size to the mattress size.
